What do I get with the Free tier?

Free users can search for both award flights and hotels and see which properties and routes have availability, but results are partially blurred. You will see hotel names, locations, airlines and routes — but detailed pricing data (points, cash rates, room types, fare classes) is hidden. It is a great way to explore what Rewardo offers before committing.

How does Scout pricing work?

Scout starts at £8 per month and gives you full access to flight and hotel search. You earn points by refreshing hotel pricing through our browser extension while you browse loyalty sites — flights are searched directly on Rewardo and do not earn Scout points. Each point reduces your bill by 1p. The more stale the data you update, the more points you earn. Your bill can drop as low as £1 per month but never reaches zero — we need to keep the lights on! The bill that gets charged is locked in roughly 24 hours before your renewal date, and your point balance resets at the start of each new billing cycle, so we recommend earning points consistently throughout the month rather than at the last minute.

What is a Day Trip?

Day Trip unlocks full flight search, hotel search, price history and trip planning for 24 hours at a flat cost of £5. There is no auto-renewal, no extension required, and no contribution required. Day Trip does not include the Scout community features (extension submissions, leaderboard standings, monthly tasks/prizes) — those are reserved for active subscribers. It is ideal for one-off trip planning sessions when you need real-time data without a monthly commitment.

How are Scout points calculated?

Points are based on how stale the hotel data was before you refreshed it via the extension. Updating a hotel whose data is over 24 hours old earns 0.5 points. Between 12–24 hours earns 0.25 points. Between 2–12 hours earns 0.05 points. Under 2 hours earns 0.02 points. The system rewards you more for refreshing data the community needs most. Flights are searched directly on Rewardo and do not currently earn points — this is on our roadmap.

What does Rewardo do to help Scouts earn?

We surface a live list of the hotels with the oldest cached data so you know exactly where to focus for maximum points. The monthly leaderboard recognises the top contributing Scouts. Bigger reward perks — like complimentary subscription months and gift memberships — are on the roadmap and we will announce them when they launch.

Question 6

Can I switch between tiers?

Yes. You can upgrade, downgrade or switch tiers any time through the Stripe customer portal. Mid-cycle changes are prorated automatically — you will be credited for unused time on your current plan and charged a prorated amount for the new one on the same invoice. Downgrading to Free means you lose access to detailed pricing data but keep your account, history and any points you have already earned in lifetime stats.

Do I need the browser extension?

Only for Scout — and only to earn the contribution discount. The browser extension captures hotel pricing when you visit loyalty programme websites (Hilton, IHG, Hyatt, Marriott). Flights are searched directly on Rewardo regardless of tier, so the extension is not involved there. Explorer, AI Agent and Day Trip users do not need the extension at all.

Do my Scout points expire?

Points reset at the start of each monthly billing cycle. They are used to calculate that month’s discount, so they do not carry over. However, your lifetime stats, leaderboard history, and earned prizes are permanent.

What is the Developer tier?

The Developer tier gives you programmatic access to Rewardo’s award availability data via a RESTful API — covering both hotel awards (Hilton, IHG, Hyatt, Marriott) and flight awards (Virgin Red and Avios programmes today, more to follow). You get 10,000 requests per month, real-time and historical pricing endpoints, an API key management dashboard with rotation, and full documentation. It is designed for developers building apps, dashboards or integrations on top of award travel data.

What is the AI Agent tier?

The AI Agent tier unlocks Wardo, our AI travel assistant. Chat in natural language to search award availability across hotels (Hilton, IHG, Hyatt, Marriott) and flights (Virgin Red, Avios), plan multi-stop trip itineraries, rank redemptions by value, and track your loyalty balances and points expiry. It includes everything in the Explorer tier plus 500 chat credits per month for Wardo. Complex queries can use multiple credits per turn — if you run low, top up with a £5 / 500-credit pack at any time, and credits never expire.

Can I use the API for commercial purposes?

Yes — the Developer tier is designed for commercial use. You can build customer-facing applications, internal tools or automated workflows on top of Rewardo’s data. The AI Agent tier is for end-user chat with Wardo and does not include programmatic API access. Fair usage policies apply — contact us for enterprise needs beyond the standard request limits.

Question 12

What happens if I exceed my API rate limit?

API requests beyond your monthly limit will return a 429 status code. You can monitor your usage via the developer dashboard. If you consistently need more requests, contact us about enterprise pricing with higher limits.
